After graduating in 2010 from the University of the West of England, in Bristol, I began painting in Guernsey, which has been my home for over 20 years. The stunning and diverse land around the island has been such a huge source of inspiration for me and has helped form my method of working and the places I want to paint.
I am always drawn to the sea, lakes and rivers. I love walking around interesting locations, in different weathers and times of day particularly if they have historic stories or myths associated with them. Drawing from life, then memory, and often discarding all these drawings to concentrate on layers and texture in my final paintings. I enjoy working with a variety of oils, pigments, varnishes and mixed media. I get excited finding new textures or when several paints don't behave as I expected.
During the last few years, I've created bodies of work based on the Madagascan rainforest and Hungzhou in China. I currently live and work in London
